- Cookie policy
This policy refers to the cookies and web pages used by the Romanian Standards Association, headquartered in Bucharest, Mendeleev 21-25 Street, Romania.
- What is a Cookie?
A cookie is a small-sized, letter and digit-made file, to be stored on a user’s computer, mobile terminal or other equipment the Internet is accessed from. The cookie is installed by means of a request sent by a web server to a browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Chrome), is completely “passive” (does not contain software, virus or spyware programs and cannot access the information on the user’s hard driver).
- What are Cookies used for?
These files make possible the user terminal recognition and the relevant, user-adapted displaying of the content. Cookies provide the user a pleasant navigation experience and support Altex’ efforts of offering comfortable services to users, e.g.: online privacy, shopping bag or relevant advertising preferences. They are also used in preparing a series of anonymised aggregated statistics that help us understand the way a user benefits from our web pages, allow us to improve their content and structure and exclude user’s personal identification.
- What kind of Cookies we use?
We use two types of Cookies: per-session and fixed cookies. Per-session cookies are temporary files that remain on user’s terminal until the ending of the session or the closing of the application (web browser). Fixed cookies remain on user’s terminal throughout a period defined by the Cookie’ parameters or until manually erased by the user.
- How are cookies used by this website?
Cookies may be installed through a visit on this website with the following purposes:
Website performance cookies
Necessary cookies
Visitor analysis cookies
Marketing cookies
- Do Cookies contain personal data?
Cookies per se do not solicit personal information in order that their use be possible and, in most of the cases, do not personally identify Internet users. Personal data collection by using cookies can only be performed to facilitate certain functionalities to the user. Such data is encrypted in a way that makes unauthorized persons access to them impossible.
- Erasing of Cookies
Generally, an app used for accessing the web pages implicitly allows saving the Cookies on the terminal. These settings can be changed so as the automatic management of the Cookies be blocked by the web browser or the user be informed each time the Cookies are sent to the latter’s terminal. Detailed information regarding Cookies’ possibilities and management means can be found in the settings area of the app (web browser). Restricting the use of Cookies might affect certain functionalities of the web page.
- Why are cookies so important on the Internet?
Cookies represent the central point of the efficient functioning of the Internet, helping generate friendly navigation experiences, adapted to each user’s preferences and interests. Rejecting or deactivating the cookies can make some websites impossible to use.
Rejecting or deactivating the cookies does not mean you will not receive online advertising anymore, but only that the latter will not be able to consider your preferences and interests, revealed by your navigation behaviour, anymore.
Examples of important uses of cookies (not requiring user’ logging in):
User preferences-adapted content and services – product and service categories.
Offers adapted to users’ interests – memorizing of passwords.
Memorizing the copies’ protection filters regarding the content on the Internet (family mode options, safe search functions).
Limiting of adds spreading’ frequency – limiting of the number of an ad’s displaying on a site for a certain user.
More user-relevant advertising provision.
The measuring, optimization and analytics features – such as the confirming of a certain traffic level on a website, the type of content that is viewed and the way a user gets to the website (e.g. by searching engines, directly, from other websites, etc.). Websites conduct these analyses of the way they are used to improve websites for users’ benefit.
