This policy refers to the cookies and web pages used by the Romanian Standards Association, headquartered in Bucharest, Mendeleev 21-25 Street, Romania.

The cookie is installed by means of a request sent by a web server to a browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Chrome), is completely “passive” (does not contain software, virus or spyware programs and cannot access the information on the user’s hard driver).

These files make possible the user terminal recognition and the relevant, user-adapted displaying of the content. Cookies provide the user a pleasant navigation experience and support Altex’ efforts of offering comfortable services to users, e.g.: online privacy, shopping bag or relevant advertising preferences. They are also used in preparing a series of anonymised aggregated statistics that help us understand the way a user benefits from our web pages, allow us to improve their content and structure and exclude user’s personal identification.

We use two types of Cookies: per-session and fixed cookies. Per-session cookies are temporary files that remain on user’s terminal until the ending of the session or the closing of the application (web browser). Fixed cookies remain on user’s terminal throughout a period defined by the Cookie’ parameters or until manually erased by the user.

8. Why are cookies so important on the Internet? 

Cookies represent the central point of the efficient functioning of the Internet, helping generate friendly navigation experiences, adapted to each user’s preferences and interests. Rejecting or deactivating the cookies can make some websites impossible to use.

Rejecting or deactivating the cookies does not mean you will not receive online advertising anymore, but only that the latter will not be able to consider your preferences and interests, revealed by your navigation behaviour, anymore.

The measuring, optimization and analytics features – such as the confirming of a certain traffic level on a website, the type of content that is viewed and the way a user gets to the website (e.g. by searching engines, directly, from other websites, etc.). Websites conduct these analyses of the way they are used to improve websites for users’ benefit.
